I grew up in an industrial town in India called Haldia. Growing up I saw a lot chemical companies around me, which kind of made me fascinated about chemical engineering. However it was almost by luck that I ended up studying chemical engineering from IIT Kharagpur. It was really an action packed, fun-filled 4 years. During my undergrad I involved myself in a lot of research projects and I found interest in doing science. As a logical choice I thought that I should do a PhD. Within a few months of applying I found myself at Georgia Tech. I was given the opportunity to work with Dr. Mark Prausnitz, the son of legendary chemical engineer Dr. John Prausnitz and the a PhD. graduate from the formidable Langer Lab at MIT.
During my PhD.I got to perform activities which I did not initially had expertise on. I learnt how to play racket sports (tennis, badminton and squash), play the keyboard, skiing, ice skating, shooting etc. |
